Testing update

Who did what during the last tests. 
(For the Magny-Cours and Monza testing times see the Test-Time section.)
-  Weather:
-  Sometimes rain and drizzle. 
 
 
Per team:
-  Arrows
-  Muller: tested on a circuit in central France. He tested aerodynamic modifications. He ran at speeds of 120, 180 and 240 kph on the straight to gather data for the team.
 -  Diniz: the revised Yamaha engine at Magny-Cours.
 
 -  Benetton
-  Alesi: mechanical set-up and a revised rear suspension configuration. Alesi also simulated a race distance, of which 43 were timed.
 -  Wurz: mechanical and aerodynamic set-up.
 
 -  Ferrari (Monza)*
-  Irvine: tested the electronic differential and modified rollbar. He suffered a gearbox hydraulic problem and a spin.
 
 -  Jordan
-  Fisichella: new differential set-up, different gear ratios, front suspension geometry evaluation. He suffered a few spins of which one badly damaged the bottom of the car, which took some time to repair.
 -  R. Schumacher: set-up, new front suspension geometry and some differential modifications.
 
 -  McLaren
-  Coulthard: testing the new Mercedes engine. He suffered some engine problems and broke a front suspension when going over a high kerb. 
 -  Hakkinen: testing the new Mercedes engine. Long runs were interrupted by rain.
 
 -  Minardi
-  Katayama and Trulli tested aerodynamic changes and a single damper set-up.
 
 -  Sauber (Monza)*
-  Herbert: tested new wings and a alteration of the gearbox.
 
 
 -  Stewart*
-  Stewart send their chassis to the Ford Advanced Technical centre. "It won't produce results immediately," J. Stewart said but the team will have a new low downforce front wing in Canada and a new two-plane rear wing.
 
 -  Williams
-  Both Villeneuve and Frentzen worked on the set-up for the French Grand Prix and did some Goodyear tyre testing.
