Ferrari drivers Michael Schumacher and Eddie Irvine were back to further tests on the F300 today, at the sunny Mugello track. Testing began at 10 am, with Schumacher speding the entire day testing various types of tyre. He ran a total of 105 laps, clocking the best time of 1:27.386s. Irvine worked on the installation of his new seat and succeeded in finding a good driving position. In the afternoon he did some work on the set-up, only to be interrupted by a transmission problem. He had a total of 43 laps, with best time of 1:27.804s. Testing ended at 6 pm and will continue tomorrow.
