Tuesday July 17th, 2001

While World Champion Michael Schumacher was forced to withdraw from the test at Monza after his heavy crash, his Ferrari team was also testing at the Fiorano circuit on Tuesday.

Italian test driver Luca Badoer began his first day of work at the team's test track. Badoer completed a total of 58 laps - 12 of them around the short version of the circuit - working on electronics and set-up for the F2001. The Italian's best lap was 1:00.677.

Badoer will continue working at Fiorano on Wednesday, while Brazilian Rubens Barrichello will replace Schumacher at Monza.
