Ferrari Kick Off Fiorano Test

Italian driver Luca Badoer kicked off on Tuesday Ferrari's preparations for the United States Grand Prix next week, the test driver working at the Fiorano circuit.

Ferrari's programme for the week will concentrate on development of the electronics systems of the F2001, and Badoer will also test news components for the 2002 car.

Today, the Italian driver completed a total of 42 laps, six of them around the short version of the circuit, with a best time of 59.988.

"Today we worked on two fronts," said Badoer. "On one car, I concentrated on electronics development for the final part of the season, while with the other, I started work on developing a few components which could be used next season."

Badoer will continue working at Fiorano on Wednesday.
