Ferrari Shake Down Fourth Chassis at Fiorano

Friday May 25th, 2001

Italian driver Luca Badoer shook down on Friday the fourth Ferrari F2001 chassis to be used at this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix.

At the Fiorano track, Ferrari's test driver Badoer completed a total of eight laps, four of them around the short version of the circuit, setting a best time of 1:01.406.

World champion Michael Schumacher was expected to test today at Fiorano, but the German driver decided it was not necessary after last week's test.

"We have sufficient data from last week and since we no longer use the manual start it will not be necessary to go back on Friday," said Schumacher. "We will still be testing something but it will not be me doing it, Luca Badoer is."
