Today was the fifth and final day of testing for Ferrari at the Fiorano circuit for the upcoming Monaco GP. Today's work was done in nice, sunny weather with the air temperature ranging from 18C to 25C and a track temperature ranging from 23C to 39C.
The day's programme started with the shakedown of three of the four cars which the team will have at its disposal for the forthcoming Monaco Grand Prix. Luca Badoer started driving at 8:15am and finished the shakedown at 11:00am. He did a total of 20 laps (7 on the short version of the track), divided as follows: 5 (2 short) with Michael Schumacher's car (chassis 210), 6 with Rubens Barrichello's (206) and 9 (5 short) on the World Champion's spare car (211.) The quickest lap was 1:00.573. Three practice pit stops were also carried out.
For the rest of the day Michael Schumacher and Luca Badoer continued with the electronics development. Michael ended his day's work at 18:15, having done 68 laps (11 short), the quickest being 59:817 and after having done four practice starts. Badoer finally cut the engine on his F2001 at 19:45. The Italian covered 98 laps (30 short), with a best time of 59:359. He also did 16 practice starts.
The fourth car (chassis no. 212), which will serve as Rubens Barrichello's spare, will be shaken down at the start of next week.
