The Ferrari team continued working for the second consecutive day at their Fiorano test track on Wednesday, and Brazilian Rubens Barrichello lowered his personal record at the wheel of the F2001.
Barrichello joined test driver Luca Badoer at the Italian track, as both continued with the development work of electronic components, also carrying out some tyre testing. The Brazilian driver completed a total of 68 laps with a best time of 59.560, a new record for him at Fiorano. Badoer, meanwhile, completed 65 laps, setting a fastest time of 1:00.032.
"It was a positive day," said Barrichello. "We did some electronics and tyre testing. The track temperature was very high, so I didn't think it would be possible to do any very quick times. However, the car was going very well and I managed to do the best lap for this track."
Both drivers will continue working at Fiorano tomorrow.
