Michael Schumacher topped the time sheets for the Ferrari team on the final day of work at the Mugello circuit in Italy, where the test was hampered by some showers at the end of the session.
The German driver, quickest on Thursday, continued working at the wheel of the F2001, his day's programme concentrating on developing every aspect of the electronics systems. In addition, he also carried out some tyre testing. Schumacher was slightly quicker than test driver Luca Badoer, who was second.
Kimi Raikkonen took over from team mate Nick Heidfeld at the wheel of the Sauber Petronas C20, the Finn working on the traction control system. He also tried the team's new power steering, setting the third quickest time of the session.
"The poor weather today at least gave me a chance to try the traction control in dry and wet conditions," Raikkonen said. "My first feeling is that it should improve the laptime of the car if it is correctly implemented, but
that it takes time to get fully used to."
Brazilian Tarso Marques replaced Fernando Alonso at the European Minardi team, the Brazilian posting the slowest time more than five seconds off Schumacher's pace.
