More Testing for Schumacher and Badoer at Fiorano

Friday April 6th, 2001

The Ferrari team continued working at their Fiorano test track for the fourth consecutive day in preparation for the upcoming San Marino Grand Prix, with championship leader Michael Schumacher and test driver Luca Badoer.

Schumacher, who on Thursday saw his running time cut short after damaging the rear suspension of his car, worked today on the aerodynamics of the F2001. The German also tested different Bridgestone tyre compounds, completing a total of 104 laps with a best time of 59.071.

Meanwhile, Badoer concentrated again on developing the electronic systems to be introduced at the Spanish Grand Prix, driving last season's F1-2000 chassis. The Italian set a fastest time of 1:00.283 after 32 laps. Late in the afternoon, Badoer also tested Schumacher's car, with a best lap of 1:00.203.

Both drivers will continue testing on Saturday.
