Rain Thwarts Silverstone Test - Final Day

Thursday April 5th, 2001

The final day of Testing at Silverstone was once more thwarted by heavy rain for the third time, and the Formula One teams there were not able to complete their scheduled programmes.

Only McLaren and Jordan were present today at the circuit after BAR, who set the pace on Wednesday, decided there was too much water on the track and left a day earlier.

McLaren's test driver Alexander Wurz was fastest despite completing only two laps, while Italian Jarno Trulli was able to run the most number with thirteen, setting the second quickest time.

Brazilian Ricardo Zonta was third while David Coulthard, replacing Mika Hakkinen at the wheel of the MP4-16, was eleven seconds off the pace after only three laps.
