Just two days after clinching the Drivers' Championship in Suzuka, the Ferrari team began their preparations for the Malaysian Grand Prix yesterday.
While newly crowned World Champion Michael Schumacher and teammate Rubens Barrichello took a holiday, the test team were at the Fiorano track with Luca Badoer at the wheel.
The Italian driver worked on new mechanical components for the F1-2000, driving on a dry circuit in the morning, and a wet circuit in the afternoon. On dry tyres, Badoer's best lap was a 1:01.892, while on wet tyres the fastest time was a 1:07.103, completing a total of 55 laps.
Today, Badoer will continue testing at the Ferrari-owned Mugello circuit.
