Barrichello Fastest at Valencia - Day Three

Friday December 15th, 2000

Ferrari's Rubens Barrichello topped the time sheets on the final day of testing at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia.

The Brazilian driver, who continued the development work of the Bridgestone tyres, was not capable of beating David Coulthard's time, set on Thursday before McLaren decided to leave the circuit after completing their programme before schedule.

Heinz-Harald Frentzen was second quickest in the Jordan fitted with an experimental version of a traction control system.

Spanish driver Pedro de la Rosa took over the driving seat for Arrows, continuing Jos Verstappen work in the first two days.

De la Rosa set the third fastest time of the day, despite having to replace the AMT engine during the afternoon after a hydraulics problem.

Jordan's test driver Ricardo Zonta was fourth and last, only four tenths of a second slower than Barrichello.

The next three-day testing session will begin next Monday at the Barcelona circuit.
