Diniz is Fine
The Sauber team reported today that Pedro Diniz is feeling fine after his accident at the European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. Following a second examination at a hospital in Bonn, Germany, the 29 year old Brazilian returned yesterday evening back to his apartment in Monte Carlo. "Yesterday I was really motivated, when I started the race, unfortunately it was finished very soon," Diniz said today. "Many thanks to the extrication team, they did a really good job. Apart from bruising my shoulder and knee, I have no injuries. I think, that I will do the Barcelona test next week at the 6th and 7th October. That depends on a further medical examination." Diniz was involved in a three-way accident on the first lap of the European Grand Prix. He was hit in the back by Benetton driver, Alexander Wurz, who said yesterday: "Damon Hill was in front of me and in the middle of the chicane he didn't accelerate. So I swerved to the right and hit Pedro Diniz. I'm very lucky that Pedro, who is a friend of mine, is not injured."
