Mika Hakkinen celebrated his 1998 World Championship title when he 'returned home' to Woking (England) today. 15,000 fans cheered the Fin on when he was driven into town in a Mercedes SL 500.

He then took the wheel of the MP/4-13 to let the crowd hear the power of the car, which gave him the 1998 Championship. Hakkinen also went into the crowd to sign autographs, although he did say found the weather 'freezing'. Team-boss Ron Dennis received an award to show the appreciation of what McLaren has meant for the Woking area.
