Heinz Harald Frentzen will announce tomorrow (Thursday) that he is to join Jordan Grand Prix. The German driver will replace fellow countryman Ralf Schumacher, who is expected to move to Williams, Frentzen's current team.
According to reports in the German media, Frentzen has signed a two-year deal with Jordan, with another year optional. He will receive a salary of 7 million DM a year (about 3.7 million USD).
Frentzen will partner former World Champion Damon Hill, whom he replaced in Williams two years ago. "This is without doubt our strongest ever driver pairing," said tonight Eddie Jordan, "and while we still have plenty to achieve in 1998, I'm already looking forward to 1999."
The official announcement is scheduled to be made tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon, at Monza.
