Heinz-Harald Frentzen can stay with the Williams team next season. There has been some speculation that Frentzen would be able to drive next year because of his bad results.

Team boss Frank Williams said in a German Magazine: "I am very happy with him and he's got a two-year contract. "He's a fantastic driver, he's got plenty of talent but he still needs time to learn how to use the Williams' potential to the full".

The same magazine also stated that the German car maker BMW will return to Formula One with The Williams team. This partnership should start latest in 1999.
