Bridgestone have made it official that they are going to supply five teams in this year's Formula One season: Arrows, Prost, Minardi, Stewart and Lola.
The company stated: "We hope you will see Bridgestone's F1 tyre at its best, giving full play to the know-how the company has reaped through motorsport activities at home and abroad.
Bridgestone began developing the Formula One tyre in 1989.
Jacques Villeneuve tested on the Magny-Cours (France) circuit. He clocked a fastest time of 1m 16.60s (57 laps). This time is three seconds slower than the fastest time set by Olivier Panis in the Prost-Mugen-Honda.
Villeneuve's team-mate Heinz-Harald Frentzen, who didn't test, has stated people should not expect too much from him because he has only done about 40% of the amount of testing he would have liked to have done.
