Damon Hill tested the Arrows today in very bad weather conditions. He didn't come very far, just one lap because of gearbox problems again. His mind wasn't really at the tests but at the Senna trial which is about to start. Hill said: "It is a very unpleasant sort of thing to have to go through. It was traumatic enough going through it the first time, when Ayrton died, and to have to experience it all again is not really what you need. It is not something you want to dwell on too much, but lessons have to be learned and, since Ayrton's death, a lot of things have changed in Formula One and it is a lot safer. His crash highlighted the fact that we have got a responsibility to provide entertainment to the public and not just a macabre spectacle. The safer it gets, the better the racing gets, people feel more confident and take more liberties. And that improves the show for everyone."
Hill's team-mate Pedro Diniz got his first test in the Arrows car but he could just drive a couple of hundred meters before he had to park his car on the grass.
The Tyrrell team was also present. They didn't do a lot of laps. Jos Verstappen was feeling a little bit ill.
