The Williams-Renault team have confirmed that their second driver next year will be Heinz-Harald Frentzen. Frentzen is driving for the Sauber-Ford team this year next to Johnny Herbert.

Team boss Frank Williams again did not want to say why Damon Hill is not signed on for next year, he did say: "Damon has contributed greatly to the team."

Williams also said Michael Schumacher is the driver he most admirers and fears: "The nightmare is to picture Michael in a car next season that is as competitive as the Williams. (..) We will have to go to church on Sunday and pray for unreliability. (...) It's not on the agenda, but of course I would like to see Schumacher in a Williams."
