Quotes
Schumacher: "This really was a bad day. First, the
fuel pressure was too low which made it difficult to start
the engine. Then the balance of the brakes was inconsistent
front to rear which stopped me from pushing hard. Finally
the drive shaft: the breakage may have been caused by the
fact that, because of a clutch problem, I let the wheels spin
too much. I did not expect so many problems all at the same
time, but the important thing now is not to be discouraged
and to continue working with conviction on the important
developments in progress."
Hill:"I was flat out all the way. It was very important
for me to do well because Jacques is right behind me for the
championship. I was very pleased to win because I was
beginning to get a little worried about the fact that I hadn't
scored in two races. The most important thing for me here
was to finish and to score points, and the best way to score
points was to score 10. (...) It was important not to make
any errors because I knew it was crucial to come out of the
last stop ahead of him. I would have had a very difficult job,
even though the track had one or two more overtaking places
now. I pushed all the way to stay in front of Jacques."
Villeneuve:"I wasn't quick enough on the opening
laps. I was saving the brakes because I thought they would
go away, but I could have pushed because they didn't go away."
