Former Formula One Champions Nelson Piquet and Mario Andretti will compete in the 64th 24-hour race of Le Mans, to be held on June 15. Piquet will drive a McLaren while Andretti will drive a Courage. McLaren has the most entries, ten, for this event.

Schumacher still fast

Schumacher has set the fastest time ever by a F 310 at the Fiorano (Italy) circuit, even though he used the old 1995 gearbox. He set a best time of 1:03.08. Schumacher and Irvine will shake down the Ferrari's which they are going to use in the next Grands Prix on Friday before they are shipped to Brazil for the next race.

  • Villeneuve is the first Formula One driver to arrive in Brazil, yesterday on Senna's birthday.
  • The Fan-club of Ayrton Senna, Torcida Ayrton Senna, has set up a huge exposition in honour of his birthday. All kinds of artefacts are displayed: e.g. helmets and his last autograph.
